Gurugram · Sector 72, Southern Peripheral Road
Thirty-six acres with five kinds of home, from 40-storey towers to vertillas with a courtyard. Each one needs a different garden.

What we know
Tata Primanti on the Southern Peripheral Road, Sector 72, is a 36-acre IGBC Platinum community with more kinds of outdoor space than any other society we visit. The Tower Residences are 40 storeys with balconies in the wind. The Executive Apartments are low mid-rise blocks of three-side-open 4 BHKs. The Executive Floors are duplexes with a terrace each. And the Vertillas and Villas come with a private garden, a skylight courtyard and, in some, a plunge pool.
That is why we send a designer rather than a catalogue. A tower balcony on the 30th floor wants heavy planters and wind-tolerant plants. A duplex terrace wants a pergola, deck tiles and shade for the May afternoon. A vertilla courtyard under a skylight wants a tree in a pot, ferns at its feet and a bench. The common thread at Primanti is space: enough of it that the garden can be a room, not a shelf.
Your space
Every plan starts with a free visit. These are the ideas we usually bring.
A pergola with a climber, teak deck tiles, a lounge corner and a line of tall planters where the sun is harshest. Terraces start at ₹1,50,000 and take two to three days.
One potted tree under the skylight, ferns, calatheas and a moss wall around it, a bench, and a lamp for the evening. Courtyards start at ₹1,00,000.
Grouped low planters, grasses and succulents that take the wind, a small deck and two chairs. Most are done in a day from ₹9,999.
Plants that last here
A terrace slab stores the day's heat and gives it back at night, so roots cook in thin pots. We use deep, light planters raised off the floor on feet, and shade cloth or a pergola on the south-west side.
A skylight courtyard gets bright but indirect light most of the day. That is fern and philodendron territory, with one plant that can take the midday patch, a ficus or a frangipani.
Above the mid-floors the wind dries plants faster than the sun does. Thick leaves, grasses and bougainvillea cope; self-watering planters cover the gaps between visits.
Society water on the SPR side is usually hard. We use a free-draining mix and flush the pots on Care visits so the white crust never builds.
Society rules
Primanti has several sub-associations and we have not seen a published rulebook for terraces or balconies, so the designer confirms with yours. Our standard holds everywhere: no drilling, nothing outside the railing or parapet, all planters on trays, and for terraces a quick check of the waterproofing before anything heavy goes down.
What it costs
Starting prices include design, plants, planters and installation.

Questions
More than a planted terrace needs, as long as the load is spread. We use light fibre planters with a free-draining mix, keep them along the walls rather than in one heap, and raise them on feet so the slab breathes. Before anything goes down we check the waterproofing; if you want a lawn or a water feature, we ask for a structural opinion first.
