Gurugram · Sectors 50–51
Three hundred acres, half of it green, and every kind of home. The garden that suits a Woodstock floor is not the one for a Close North balcony.

What we know
Nirvana Country is a township, not a society: more than 300 acres across Sectors 50 and 51 with over half the land given to parks, and homes of every shape. Espace and Aspen Greens are villas with their own lawns. Woodstock and Cedar Crest are independent floors, most with a terrace. Fresco, The Close North and South, Escape and Harmony are apartment blocks with thousands of balconies between them. Nirvana Courtyard is the market in the middle, CK Birla Hospital is a walk away and the Sector 55-56 Rapid Metro is about five kilometres.
The land is mature, the trees are tall and the birds know it, which is a gift and a problem. Villa lawns in Gurugram's heat take more water than most families want to give them, so we often trade a strip of lawn for planted beds that look fuller and drink less. Floor terraces want shade and a pergola. The apartment balconies want the same careful, tray-based, no-drilling garden we do everywhere. Dust from the construction in the surrounding sectors and waterlogging on the internal roads in the monsoon are the two local facts we plan around.
Your space
Every plan starts with a free visit. These are the ideas we usually bring.
Keep a small lawn for the children and turn the rest into beds: flowering shrubs, a fruit tree, herbs by the kitchen door, and drip under everything. Courtyards and gardens start at ₹1,00,000.
Pergola, climbers, deck tiles, a lounge and shade on the west. Terraces take two to three days, from ₹1,50,000.
Trays under everything, planters that fit the railing wall, a seat if there is room. Done in a day from ₹9,999.
Plants that last here
Big trees mean many Nirvana gardens are shadier than their owners think. Ferns, calatheas, aglaonema and impatiens do well where the lawn gave up.
Low beds here can sit in water for a day after a storm. We raise beds, use free-draining mix and keep planters on feet so roots never drown.
Construction around Sectors 50 and 51 settles on leaves quickly. Glossy foliage, a monthly rinse and a hedge on the road side keep it in check.
They take the tomatoes and dig the seedlings. We net the kitchen beds lightly and plant the ornamental beds with things they leave alone.
Society rules
Nirvana has several associations (Fresco, The Close and the villa blocks each have their own) and no township-wide published garden rules that we found, so the designer checks with yours. For apartments: no drilling, nothing outside the railing, trays under every planter. For villas: nothing that changes the facade without the association's nod.
What it costs
Starting prices include design, plants, planters and installation.
Around Sectors 50–51
Nirvana Country sits near Nirvana Courtyard, CK Birla Hospital, Good Earth City Centre, Malibu Towne and South City II. Our crew is in this part of Gurugram most weeks, which is how a balcony can be done in a single day.
